Getting started
What is Kyro Player?
Kyro Player is a media player application for iOS, Android, and Windows that plays M3U playlists and Xtream Codes streams you supply. It does not provide, host, or supply any content.
How do I add a playlist?
Open Kyro Player, go to the Playlists tab, tap +, and choose M3U URL or Xtream Codes. Enter the details from your IPTV provider and tap Add Playlist. See the full install guide for screenshots.
Do I need an account to use Kyro Player?
No. Kyro Player does not require sign-up. You can install and start watching immediately. Subscription plans use your Apple ID or Google account — never a Kyro account.
Where do I get a playlist or M3U URL?
Kyro Player does not provide playlists or content. Obtain an M3U URL or Xtream Codes credentials (server URL, username, password) from a legitimate IPTV provider you have subscribed to.
Playback & formats
What formats does Kyro Player support?
M3U and M3U8 playlists, Xtream Codes API, and stream protocols including HLS, RTMP, RTSP, MPEG-TS, DASH, UDP, and standard HTTP. iOS uses VLCKit; Android uses MediaKit (libmpv).
Which video codecs are supported?
H.264, H.265/HEVC, AV1, VP9, MPEG-2, and more. Audio: AAC, AC3, EAC3, Opus, FLAC, and more. Hardware acceleration is used where the device supports it.
Can Kyro play 4K HDR content?
Yes, on capable devices. The app requests hardware decoding for 4K and HDR10 streams. HDR rendering depends on your device display.
My playlist has 50,000 channels — will Kyro handle it?
Yes. Kyro uses virtualized lists; playlists with 100,000+ entries still scroll smoothly. The initial parse can take a minute on very large lineups.
Subscriptions & billing
What's included in Premium?
Premium unlocks Movies & Series (VOD), multiple playlists, full 7-day EPG, HD/4K quality, background playback, auto-reconnect, and priority support. Free includes live TV and basic features.
How much does Premium cost?
Premium is $14.99/year with a 7-day free trial. A Lifetime option is available at $24.99 one-time.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple (iOS) or Google Play (Android). On iOS: Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › Kyro Player › Cancel. On Android: Google Play › Menu › Subscriptions › Kyro Player › Cancel.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. For iOS: reportaproblem.apple.com. For Android: open Play Store, go to your order history, request refund. We do not process refunds directly.
Privacy & legality
Is Kyro Player legal?
Yes. Kyro Player is a legal media player app, similar to VLC. You are responsible for ensuring the content you access is legally authorized. Use only legitimate IPTV services with a valid subscription.
Does Kyro see my playlist URL?
No. Your M3U URL and any Xtream credentials stay on your device. Kyro Player has no server that stores your playlist.
Does Kyro track me?
No behavioral tracking, no ad SDKs, no data sold. Minimal anonymized crash reporting that you can opt out of.
Troubleshooting
Why isn't my playlist loading?
Check your internet connection, verify the playlist URL or credentials, confirm your subscription is active, try refreshing the playlist. Some streams may be geo-restricted.
Streams keep buffering.
Run a speed test. If you're on Wi-Fi, try 5 GHz or Ethernet. Also check with your provider — buffering on every channel points to a provider-side issue.
EPG is empty.
For M3U, you need a separate XMLTV EPG URL from your provider. For Xtream, EPG is usually bundled; if missing, the provider may not populate it.
A specific channel is black or errors out.
That stream may be down on the provider side, geo-restricted in your region, or use a codec your device can't decode in hardware. Try another channel to verify.
